They are indeed as short as expected, which sons may not like. Good compression. I have larger thighs so they do dig in a little at the back of the thigh.

I like how these fit for general wear, walking, or jogging, however, when I do sprints they tend to roll up at the bottom.

These are true to size and quite comfortable. I wouldn't recommend them for very sweaty workouts or hot weather as they are quite thick and the colour will show any sweat patches.
